Jacksonville, Fl — Flooded streets, frequent lightning, record rainfall. Monday night’s storms dumped extreme rainfall from central Duval County to Nassau County.
Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says the Jacksonville Airport recorded more than 3.5 inches of rain.

“There were a few spots between Jacksonville International Airport and Downtown that measured as much as four to five inches of rain. About two inches fell here at the CBS 47/FOX 30 Action News Jax and WOKV studios, and again some areas not so much. But that’s the kind of pattern we’re in this week”, said Buresh.
Today could be an earlier start, from 3 to 6 pm, with heavy downpours and isolated severe storms.
“Coverage continues to look like at least half the area each day at least through Thursday and right on into Friday”, Buresh said.
There will likely be some wet roadways for the evening commute.
