Former Jacksonville Housing Authority employee convicted of sexual battery

Jacksonville, FL — A now-former employee of the Jacksonville Housing Authority has been found guilty of sexual battery on two victims.

The State Attorney’s Office says Mitchell Ray Sr. used his position at JHA to force the women in to sexual relationships, by threatening to evict them if they didn’t comply with his demands. The two victims were unknown to each other, but both testified to Ray’s actions.

He has been found guilty of two counts of sexual battery and could be sentenced to up to 30 years. A sentencing hearing has been set for February 11th.
