Jacksonville, FL - It's been a long time coming.
Governor Rick Scott says the new eastbound JTB flyover ramp will officially open next week, on September 6th.
This ramp will be used by drivers heading south on I-95, coming from Downtown, heading towards the beaches on JTB.
The Florida Department of Transportation says the new flyover will be a two-lane road that stretches for 1,400 feet. It's designed to help alleviate traffic congestion through the area.
Scott says it's just one of the many projects they hope to complete in our area.
"Right now, we have over $1.7 billion in transportation projects going on in the Jacksonville-area. We're spending over a million dollars each day, just in the Jacksonville-area, improving our infrastructure," says Scott.
