Jacksonville, Fl — The heat really gets cranking the rest of this work week. Action New Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh is tracking temperatures well above average, though humidity today is still not very high.

Temperatures climb through the mid-90s this afternoon, falling shy of the 1970 record of 99 degrees.
We’ll be pushing close to the century mark tomorrow and Friday with only isolated afternoon storms to bring some temporary relief. Feels-like temperatures will be 105+.
Mike is tracking a more active sea breeze, which will increase coverage of rain and storms Friday and Saturday especially. That will also help bring some relief from the oppressive heat throughout the weekend.
Temperatures will be in the low 90s Saturday - Tuesday, which is right around average.
