Heat returns today, cooler start to the weekend

Jacksonville, Fl — Our stretch of warm weather wraps up the work week today. Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says it will feel very summer-like before a cold front moves in late this afternoon.

“Temperatures soaring to near 90 degrees, even the beaches will get well into the 80s thanks to offshore winds. But once that front comes through, oh how it is going to cool things off”, said Buresh.

That front could also bring some widely scattered showers later today before a real nice Saturday ahead. Highs will be knocked down to the upper 70s to start the weekend.

However, we are right back to the lower 80s by Sunday with a few isolated showers/storms. Next week will start off very warm in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees.
