Increasing coverage of rain, storms each day this week

Jacksonville, Fl — Temperatures won’t be as hot over the next several days, but humidity will be sky high. Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says we’ll have a little more rain and storm coverage than Monday. Temperatures will be right at the average of 91.

Morning lows will be much warmer, too, with temperatures in the low and mid 70s along with high dewpoints.

Buresh says Wednesday through Friday will be partly sunny and humid with temperatures in the upper 80s, below average. Scattered thunderstorms will develop each day. By the end of the weekend, Buresh says just about everyone will have seen at least some rain.

The Independence Day weekend will not be a washout, but there will be scattered storms at time.

TROPICS: There are a few areas to monitor but nothing of imminent concern for Florida. A tropical disturbance approaching the Caribbean will soon become “Bonnie.” That system stays in the Caribbean and is a concern for South & Central America. There’s a wave behind that system in the Central Atlantic that is expected to move toward the Bahamas late this week. Development isn’t likely with it, but we’ll have to watch it. Closer to home, there is a complex of storms in the Northern Gulf that will slowly move toward Texas/Mexico.
