Baker County Fire Rescue Chief Trevor Nelson tells WOKV a tree fell on US 90, causing an accident that injured four people. A tree also fell on I-10 eastbound near the Baker/Columbia County line, and several trees have fallen on power lines. One of those blew a transformer and caused a small quarter-acre brush fire, according to Nelson.

There are several reports of trees down around the area, including some limbs that have fallen on homes.

Ahead of the bad weather, Naval Air Station Jacksonville recommended non-essential employees leave, and they secured all non-essential base services.

The storms stretched in to Southeast Georgia, and that’s where there was significant damage done to at least one business. The National Weather Service in Jacksonville says this damage was caused by incredibly strong winds, but not a tornado.

With the downed power lines resulting from these storms, you need to use extreme caution as you drive. If you encounter an intersection where the traffic lights are not working, remember to treat it as a four-way stop.
