Jacksonville Humane Society celebrates new building anniversary with free pet adoptions

Jacksonville, FL — The Jacksonville Human Society is celebrating a year in their new building, by offering free adoptions and some family friendly fun.

On Friday, they’re holding free adoptions from 4-7PM at their location on 8464 Beach Blvd, as part of their “Generosity Breeds Joy Day” celebrations. The party also includes a food truck, yoga with cats, animal enrichment crafts, and more.

Free adoptions continue through the weekend, as part of "National Adoption Weekend". You can find free adoptions at JHS, Jacksonville Animal Care and Protective Services, and the Petsmart at 356 Monument Road on Saturday and Sunday. While the adoption fee is waived, other fees may apply.

To honor their one-year anniversary in their new Adoption, Education, & Pet Help Center, JHS is also asking for donations to their "Unconventional Wish List" on Amazon. It includes unique items that many people may not be aware a shelter uses and needs.
