Jacksonville FL — Thursday, The Jacksonville Humane Society announced it along with Jacksonville’s Animal Care and Protective Services are offering free pet adoptions for larger dogs over 30 pounds through this Sunday. JHS says its shelters are full, and to help clear them out, all large dogs will be free to adopt.
We’re told adoptions rates typically are $50 for adult dogs heavier than 30 pounds and $150 for puppies. All animals go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. Additional fees like a rabies license fee or the cost of a dog leash and collar may apply when you adopt a new four-legged friend.
This free adoption event will be at the JHS Adoption Center at 8464 Beach Blvd. and the center will be open 12 PM – 7 PM during the week and then 10 AM – 5 PM on the weekends.
