The mask mandate for all of Duval County, including the Beaches and Baldwin, is being extended another 30 days.
Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry made the announcement on Wednesday.
“We’re doing 30 day increments. And I stay in regular contact with physicians and leaders of all of our hospital systems and it’s just the right thing to do,” Curry tells our news partner Action News Jax.
This order requires everyone over the age of 6 who is inside a public space to wear a face covering when you’re not able to social distance.
There are exemptions for individuals with a disability that prevents them from wearing a mask.
When I spoke to Mayor @lennycurry today, I also learned he is extending the mask mandate for another 30 days. "We're doing 30 day increments.
