Jacksonville, FL — One teen is dead and two others have been badly hurt in a rollover crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol says all three were in a vehicle heading south on the Southside Connector exit ramp to Regency Square Blvd. overnight, when the driver swerved left, off of the road. FHP says the vehicle overturned several times and ultimately stopped in the embankment.
One passenger, 17-year-old Lenny Espinal-Medina, was pronounced dead on the scene. The 18-year-old driver was critically hurt, and another passenger, who is 16-years-old, suffered serious injuries.
FHP says the driver was wearing a seatbelt, but they’re still investigating whether the two passengers were. It’s not believed alcohol was a factor in the crash, according to the crash report.
Charges are pending further investigation.
Crews have responded to a traffic accident on the Southside Connector at Tredinick parkway with serious injuries and a fatality in a fiery crash.
