Jacksonville, FL — Members of the Roots Church raised money and provided lunches from Trasca and Co. Eatery to members of Baptist Medical Center South’s ER and ICU staff. About 70 meals were delivered over the course of Easter Sunday and the following Monday, along with handwritten thank you cards.
Baptist Health provided the follow statement following the display from Roots Church:
Baptist Health is so grateful to the Roots Church and to all of those who have reached out with help, encouragement, and donations for our health system. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Due to the outpouring of support we’ve received from the community, we’ve created a program called Takeout for Baptist Health Heroes. Supporting Takeout for Baptist Health Heroes allows you to show our team members on the front lines of this epidemic how much you appreciate them.
Here’s how it works: You stay safe and healthy by staying at home. You support local restaurants impacted by the crisis. And you SHARE your appreciation to Health Heroes! Your donation will fund gift cards or meals from local restaurants. 100% of these purchases will be used to feed our healthcare heroes at Baptist Health.
Gifts can be made online or checks can be mailed directly to the Baptist Health Foundation. You can also donate gift cards directly to the Foundation.
The program is a way to give back, while social distancing. For more information, please visit: https://giving.baptistjax.com/takeoutforheroes.
