Jacksonville, FL — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is actively investigating on the Westside, after a man called 911, claiming he had just shot someone attempting to break into his home.
Police say this happened on North Dover Cliff Drive in the Pilgrims Trace neighborhood.
When officers arrived, they say they found a man dead in a nearby roadway. He has not yet been identified, but he's described by JSO as a black male between 30 and 40-years-old.
The investigation is still in its early states, but JSO says it does not appear that the two knew each other. We're told the homeowner is being cooperative with investigation.
Police are asking anyone with information on what happened to come forward.
