JSO: Man killed after being shot multiple times near Moncrief Park area

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide reported near the Moncrief Park area at West 35th St. and Wilson St.

JSO reported that after 1:00 p.m. a shot spotter alert was released after hearing multiple rounds of gunfire.

When arriving at the scene, Officers found a man aged 30-35 shot multiple times. Multiple homes were also hit in the shooting but nobody inside was hurt.

The victim was transferred to UF Health where he later died due to his injuries.

Action News Jax reports seeing close to 60 evidence markers at the scene.

It is unknown at this time how many suspects were involved.

This is an active investigation and detectives are canvassing the area for witnesses and video.
