Jacksonville, FL — Investigators with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office say a shooting involving five people on Jacksonville’s Westside was not random.
Police say three people are dead including the suspect and two people are injured after what JSO believes is a murder-suicide. It happened during the overnight hours on Saturday on Brian Lakes Drive.
Officers say the suspect Jacoby King had a relationship with Ryan Chesser but were no longer in a relationship. Police believe King saw Chesser out hours earlier before the shooting and he went to Chesser’s home to ambush the group. After shooting four victims, JSO believes King then turned the gun on himself taking his own life.
JSO has identified the two people who died as Chesser and Eric Bryant. Two other people were injured and taken to the hospital with serious injuries. JSO did not release their identities.
