Jacksonville, FL — Jacksonville Police are looking for a possibly armed suspect involved in an early morning shooting in the downtown area.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says around 1:50 am Tuesday, officers arrived at the 1000 block of Ionia Street when they found an adult suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
JSO says initial investigation shows that the victim was shot in the 400 block of Phelps Street, and then ran down the road to Ionia Street to have someone call the police.
The suspect is described as a black man dressed in all black clothing, armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
