Jacksonville FL — On Tuesday, JTA announced that the St. Johns River Ferry is back in service as of 3 PM. The ferry had been out of service since Saturday due to an equipment issue. We’re told it was a part associated with the vessel’s steering unit that was damaged.
JTA says that part has been repaired and the ship was able to pass Coast Guard inspections today. For the rest of the day Tuesday, trips will be free for all customers.
The St. Johns River Ferry will resume service at 3 p.m., starting in Mayport.
