LifeSouth says blood donations are needed post-Dorian

Jacksonville, FL — With Hurricane Dorian now moving away from Northeast Florida, there's a need to replenish the local blood supply.

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is putting out the call for donors to come forward, as LifeSouth's Northeast Florida donor centers will reopen at 9 AM on Thursday, September 5th.

Those two centers are located at 7840 Baymeadows Way and 800 Prudential Drive (located inside Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville).

Lifesouth says donors must be at least 17 or 16 with parental permission, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and be in good health. Donors will also need to bring along a photo ID.
