Part of a record-breaking number of firearms caught by the TSA- a loaded gun found at JIA.
The TSA says they found 74 firearms in carry-on bags last week. That’s most than the prior 73 firearm record set in April. 65 of those guns were loaded, and 18 had a round in the chamber.
We’ve learned a loaded 380 was found at Jacksonville International Airport, although there were no rounds in the chamber.
A range of knives, firearms primers, and black powder pellets were also found at various airports over the course of the week. The TSA says they screened more than 14.7 million passengers overall.
You can travel with your firearm in a checked bag, by following TSA guidelines.
