Jacksonville, FL — The president of Florida Fallen Heroes wonders how anyone could deface a memorial honoring a fallen soldier. Dave Seamans says he is shocked after a replica rifle and helmet was stolen from one of those monuments erected at Sandalwood High School.
“We wanted students at the school to know that their alumni joined or were drafted and paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms and liberties they enjoy today,” says Seamans.
Florida Fallen Heroes places these monuments at high schools of fallen service members in Florida. He hopes whoever did this will come forward and do the right thing by returning the stolen items.
Seamans lost his son Timothy Seamans, who was killed in Iraq by an IED in 2005.
He says the stolen items are worth $7000.
