The first of three people to face trial for the murder of a Navy Commander has been found guilty.
31-year-old Anthony Washington has been convicted of first degree felony murder and burglary with assault or battery. He now faces a mandatory life sentence, according to the State Attorney's Office.
In February 2014, Commander Alphonso Doss was found strangled to death inside a room at the Astoria Hotel in Orange Park. Prosecutors say Doss' estranged wife, Washington- who she was romantically involved with, and another man killed Doss for his life insurance money.
The other two accused have not yet gone to trial.
