Nassau Co. Sheriff’s Office searching for men who stole hundreds in gas from fueling station

FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. — The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two men who stole hundreds of dollars in gasoline from a fuel center in Fernandina Beach.

Deputies say on July 6, the suspects were captured on surveillance footage as they pulled into the Harris Teeter fuel center driving separate vehicles.

Investigators say the men pumped hundreds of dollars of gasoline into large gas holding tanks in the bed of their trucks.

NCSO believe the suspects may have used a computer device to manipulate the pumps.

After stealing gas, one of the men can be seen on camera entering the Harris Teeter store.

The sheriff’s office says one of the vehicles appeared to have distinctive black rims and black trim on the side of it.

NCSO is asking anyone who can identify the suspects to call Detective Pinkston at (904)548-4067. If you want to remain anonymous and qualify for a reward, please call First Coast Crimestoppers at 866-845-TIPS (8477).
