A man has been charged for careless driving and driving with a suspended license, after causing a chain reaction crash that left nine people with minor injuries in Nassau County.
Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper says 44-year-old John Truesdale, of Fernandina, was driving westbound on SR 200 at Harry Green Road, when he failed to stop for traffic. Leeper says Truesdale’s Chevy pick-up hit the back of a Dodge Journey, which then led to the chain reaction crash.
Five people- including two 12-year-olds- who were in the Journey, were taken to the hospital, but their injuries are considered minor. Truesdale and three other people involved in the other vehicles were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
