Jacksonville, FL — All northbound lanes of I-95 were blocked for more than four hours before State Road 206 due to a fatal crash investigation early today.
The crash happened just before 5:00 a.m. and all lanes were reopened after 9:00 a.m.
A crash report by the Florida Highway Patrol says a woman from Sanford lost control of her car near the U.S. 1 overpass and struck a guardrail. The car then traveled into the path of a van, causing the van to hit the passenger side of the car. The car then continued into the path of a third vehicle.
The passenger in the first car died. He has been identified by troopers at 25-year-old Jose Vazquez-Trujillo of Palm Coast. Vazquez-Trujillo was not wearing a seat belt, according to the crash report. The driver suffered serious injuries.
Two children in the van also involved in the crash suffered minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
