Orange Park Medical Center breaks ground on $12 million ER facility in the Normandy area

Jacksonville, FL — It means another health care option for families living in the Normandy area.

Orange Park Medical Center leadership broke ground Wednesday on a free-standing emergency room on Jacksonville's Westside, just east of the Lane Avenue and Normandy Boulevard intersection.

We're told the facility will be open 24-hours a day, with 50 staff members equipped to treat both adults and children. It will cover 10,800 square feet and include 10 beds.

"We know that when people experience emergencies they're looking for fast, high-quality and convenient care. By bringing an ER to the Normandy area we will be able to meet the communities growing need with the same high-level of care that we offer in our main emergency room," says Steven Goodfriend, the Medical Director of Orange Park Medical Center's Emergency Services, in a statement.

This new $12 million facility is set to open in late 2018 and will be located at 5773 Normandy Boulevard.

This will be the second free-standing emergency room for Orange Park Medical Center.
