Jacksonville, FL — There’s a new scam targeting people who use Google Calendar.
Google Calendar is the latest tool thieves are using to hack people’s account. Scammers are sending out calendar invites that look real, but those invites are connected to fake websites. Those websites try to persuade users to put in their credit card or banking account information giving scammers the opportunity to wipe the victims of their money.

Consumer Warrior Clark Howard is sending out a warning to people using any kind of these calendar apps. He says if someone clicks on a link attached the invite it could make that person more vulnerable to getting a virus downloaded onto their device.
"You can change the settings so that you cannot have something appear on your calendar unless you have accepted that as an item to go on your calendar."
