2-year-old girl dies, teen in ICU after being hit by car on A1A in Ponte Vedra Beach

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — A 2-year-old girl is dead and a 16-year-old boy is in the intensive care unit after they were struck by a car while crossing A1A in Ponte Vedra Beach on Friday night.

A GoFundMe page has been set up on behalf of the Patterson family. It is seeking $20,000 to help pay medical bills for their teenage son Tayden Wiley.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the girl and boy were crossing the road and headed to their home when they were struck by a car being driven by a 29-year-old woman, who immediately stopped after the crash.

There is no mention of alcohol or intoxication in the report.

According to the GoFundMe, the 2-year-old girl died as a result of the crash and Tayden remains in the ICU with multiple injuries.

In just one day, the page has raised $14,720 of the $20,000 goal.

We have reached out to the Patterson family and are still waiting to hear back. We’ve been told by sources with knowledge of the incident, this may have happened on the wedding night of their parents.
