ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A fatal crash has occurred in St. Johns County on US-1 Southbound at Faver Dykes Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 53-year-old woman driving a sedan failed to see a pickup truck approaching as she was crossing at Faver Dykes Road and US-1.
The front of the pickup truck hit the side of the sedan, knocking both vehicles into the southbound lanes of US-1.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital where the 53-year-old woman died from her injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 37-year-old woman, and her passenger, a 17-year-old, both had minor injuries from the crash.
All southbound lanes of US-1 at Faver Dykes Road were blocked but have since been reopened.
