Jacksonville, FL — It was a shooting that rocked Jacksonville's Southside back in August.
32-year-old Jamie Lawyer, who family says also went by Jamie Roque, was fatally shot in the drive-thru of a McDonald's on Baymeadows Road, near I-95. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said at the time the suspected gunman took off in a white, four-door car.
Now, months later, State Attorney Melissa Nelson's office is announcing the indictment of a suspect, Rasheed Kareem, in connection.
The State Attorney's Office says a Duval County grand jury indicted Kareem for first-degree murder, as well as armed aggravated stalking, armed burglary, shooting into a vehicle, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He says Kareem and his sister had an on-and-off relationship prior to this shooting.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says Kareem had been incarcerated since August 11th on other charges-- that’s just a day after this shooting happened.
