Teen shot in the head in NW Jax

Jacksonville Police are in Moncrief Park investigating an early morning shooting that has sent one teen to the hospital in critical condition.

The Sheriff's Office responded off 27^th and Spire Street where an 18-year-old was riding a bicycle when he was shot in the head around 2 AM.

“We do not have any suspects in custody or do we have any suspect information at this time,” says JSO Sergeant Michael Paul.

He says if you heard a gunshot or saw anything in the area, you can call Crime Stoppers or the Sheriff’s Office. No information was immediately available about the motive behind the shooting.
