FLORIDA — Florida Highway Patrol Jacksonville reported two deadly crashes Monday morning in Duval and St. Johns County.
Troopers tweeted the first incident saying it was on Jacksonville’s Northside. Around 1 a.m., a 46-year-old man was killed during a hit-and-run on US-17 and Zoo Parkway. The make and model of the car was not released.
About 30 minutes later, another deadly crash was reported in St. Johns County. FHP says a man driving a white Ford transit on A1A crossed over into the other lane hitting a gray Honda Element.
Both men died on impact. The victims have been identified as a 42-year-old from Ohio and a 29-year-old from Atlantic Beach. The 42-year-old was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt.
