Jacksonville, FL — The University of North Florida’s next President has now been confirmed by the Florida Board of Governors.
Dr. David Szymanski was chosen by UNF last month, but has now been formally approved during the BOG’s regular meeting. He is slated to begin May 31st, as current President John Delaney retires.
Szymanski is currently the dean of the University of Cincinnati’s Carl H. Lindner College of Business, as well as a professor of marketing. We’re told he has grown enrollment, and changed the curriculum to be more flexible for professional and time-constrained students- including launching new online courses and degree programs.
Szymanski is succeeding Delaney, who has held the position of President of UNF for 15 years. Szymanski previously told WOKV he will look to build on Delaney's legacy, while also strengthening ties between UNF and the City. He wants to make UNF the "next breakout institution" in the country.
