Jacksonville, FL — Walmart and The Salvation Army are teaming up to provide new school supplies to local children in need during the “Stuff the Bus” campaign event at local Walmart locations from Friday, August 7 to Sunday, August 9.
When shoppers visit Walmart during these days, they can purchase and drop off requested items at Salvation Army collection bins at the front of each store.
“There are many children in Duval County whose parents will have to make the tough choice between school supplies, groceries, the electric bill or insurance,” says Major Keath Biggers, Northeast Florida Area commander from The Salvation Army. “We anticipate this need will increase significantly this year due to the novel coronavirus.”
Anyone unable to make it to Walmart those days, can purchase items needed through an online registry here.
Those who would like to make a monetary donation, can do so here.
All donations made at “Stuff the Bus” campaign events will remain in the community to help The Salvation Army provide back-to-school support to local children in need.
