Well organized tropical wave moving through the Atlantic

Jacksonville FL — Keep an eye on the tropics for the rest of the week. Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says the strong tropical system moving into the Caribbean is expected to become the next named system, Isaias.

“It is still very much up in the air on the intensity of this system for multiple reasons. Part of it is dependent on exactly where it goes, if it becomes, goes over the high mountainous terrain of Puerto Rico and/or Hispaniola it would likely weaken the system and should, it if misses those islands, then it has its chance to be stronger.” Mike says.

As of now, Mike says local impacts are expected to be lots of rain with some wind Sunday night into Monday morning.

Plenty with this system can change so stay up to date with Talking the Tropics with Mike.
