Jacksonville, FL — A very active investigation is underway in Northwest Jacksonville, after a woman was found in a ditch.
JSO says an off-duty officer was flagged down around 8AM, by a person who found the woman. She was in a ditch off Garden Street and Old Kings Road, and was unresponsive. The victim was taken to the hospital, but died.
The victim is a white female in her 50s, and JSO says it appears she was familiar with the area. They have not yet identified the victim, but family has been speaking with our partner Action News Jax.

JSO has not yet confirmed the manner of death. The victim’s family says a family friend is being questioned.
