Workplace murder at Westside trucking company linked to attempted murder-suicide in Mississippi attempted

The workplace shooting death of a man at Old Dominion Freight on the Westside on Monday, is connected to an attempted murder-suicide in Mississippi, according to authorities.

The Richland Police Department says Alfred Tankersley of Orange Park shot and killed Marty Coffey in Jacksonville on Monday, and immediately went to shoot someone at a business near Jackson, Miss.

Police say Tankersley shot and wounded a man near Southeastern Freight Trucking Company on Tuesday night, and later killed himself.

Tankersley was fired from Southeastern Freight in 2015, and police believe he targeted both victims because he held a grudge.
