Felicity Huffman’s daughter accepted at Carnegie Mellon after college admissions scandal

PITTSBURGH — It's only been a few months since Felicity Huffman admitted to cheating to get her daughter into college, but now that same daughter has announced that she will be attending college at a Pittsburgh university.

Huffman served 11 days in prison last fall and was ordered to complete 250 hours of community service for paying $15,000 to a college admissions consultant to boost her daughter's SAT scores.

That daughter, Sophia Macy, has now announced plans to join the drama program at Carnegie Mellon University.

Huffman said Macy was not involved in the score-fixing scheme at all, but as a result had her previous admissions offers rescinded and had to retake the SATs.

This was part of the same admissions scandal that included Lori Loughlin and dozens of other parents.
