Deputies seize more than $4M in meth, heroin, marijuana in Alabama drug raid

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. — A Tuesday morning drug bust in Alabama netted roughly $4 million in illegal narcotics, Jefferson County deputies confirmed.

Renaldo Henderson, 43, was arrested and faces trafficking charges, following a months-long investigation by the sheriff’s office Vice and Narcotics Unit, AL.com reported.

According to WBMA, deputies executing the raid seized the following:

• 18 pounds of methamphetamine

• 2 pounds of heroin

• 224 pounds of marijuana

• 313 pounds of marijuana candies

• 6 pounds of cannabis pills

• 11 ounces of liquid cannabis

• 39.5 pounds of psilocybin mushroom candy bars

Meanwhile, AL.com reported that authorities also seized one marijuana grenade, an AK-47 rifle, a handgun and $18,360 in cash.

Deputies did not disclose where Henderson acquired the drugs but did confirm he returned recently to western Jefferson County with the intent to distribute locally, the outlet reported.
