According to WOI, Owo Robin Nyal Bol, 20, of Sioux City; Thon Robin Bol, 20, of Sioux City; Caine William Dominguez-Shiesl, 18, of Omaha, Nebraska; Reath Stephen Yak, 20, of Storm Lake; and Odol Lual Othow, 20, of Worthington, Minnesota, are facing charges of attempted murder and intimidation with a dangerous weapon in the incident.

Authorities said the shooting occurred shortly before 11 p.m. Monday at a home near 13th Street and Jefferson Avenue, WHO and KCCI previously reported. In a news release, Des Moines police said at least “a dozen shots were fired into the home, with one striking the child.” A 17-year-old girl also was inside the home, according to KTIV.

Emergency crews rushed the toddler to a nearby hospital, where the child is being treated for critical injuries, the release said.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Iowa State Patrol discovered a vehicle that had crashed off Interstate 80 in Dallas County, according to the release.

“Observations at the scene indicated a potential connection to the shooting incident, and Des Moines Police Department officers responded to that location,” the release said.

Authorities later detained the five suspects and recovered two firearms, according to the release.
