The Utah Highway Patrol said Cory Roy White, 43, was seen driving northbound in the southbound lanes on Interstate 15 late Friday night, KSTU reported.

Responding officers pursued White and clocked his minivan going 110 mph at one point during the pursuit. Officers eventually used tactical maneuvers to push White’s vehicle off the road to avoid oncoming traffic. No one was injured

“He thought the trooper was trying to race him,” investigators said in their report.

Investigators said they could smell alcohol and saw an open container in the vehicle. A Breathalyzer did not detect the presence of alcohol; however, White agreed to a urine test which tested positive for methamphetamine. Results from a blood test are pending.

White, who was on parole, was arrested on multiple charges including having a suspended license, driving under the influence, reckless driving, reckless endangerment and requiring an ignition interlock device that was not installed, investigators said. He is in jail without bail.
