Celebrating Hip Hop, How To Honor Old School History Or New Holidays

What Are The Differences Between ‘Hip Hop’s Birthday’, ‘Hip Hop Celebration Day’, ‘Hip Hop Recognition Month’ And ‘Hip Hop History Month’?

NEW YORK - AUGUST 16: Community center in ground floor of apartment building 1520 Sedgwick Avenue is recognized as official birthplace of Hip Hop on August 16, 2007 in Bronx Borough of New York City. Reportedly, it was Clive DJ Kool Herc Campbell who started mixing funk and soul in the community room of the building around 1973. The legendary rent-controlled building is planned to be converted into market-rate housing, a decision that provoked a lot of controversy from affordable housing campaigners, who hope to give the birthplace of hip hop a landmark status and continue to maintain it as an affordable housing for its long-term residents. Later known as Hip Hop, which combined the elements of a disk jockey (commonly known as a DJ), a master of ceremonies (commonly known as an MC), music, art, fashion, and dance.” The focus on the history of this one particular day is the point of the ‘Birthday’ aspect of the event.
