Jacksonville — Anyone looking to add a furry friend to the family can swing by the Jacksonville Humane Society’s Beach Boulevard location on Valentine’s Day to adopt a pet for a discounted price.
Traditional adoption rates are $50 for adult cats or adult dogs weighing more than 30 pounds, while puppies and smaller dogs cost $150 to adopt. Kittens younger than 6 months old are normally $100.
But for Valentine’s Day, the Humane Society is offering all adoptions for just $14 to “celebrate the spirit of love.”
The shelter is located at 8464 Beach Blvd. It will be open from noon to 7 p.m. on Monday. Every animal will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated before going home with someone.
The Humane Society is also celebrating Love Every Pet Week from Monday through Feb. 20 where donations will be matched. You can go here if you would like to donate.
