JSO: Man passing out stuffed animals had no bad intentions

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says an extremely frail elderly man was passing out stuffed animals to kids on the westside and did not have bad intentions.

But it created angst when a 14-year-old boy reported what he considered suspicious activity to police Wednesday afternoon.

A call came in around 3:30pm from the 14-year-old who saw what appeared to be an elderly man trying to lure a child in to his car with a stuffed animal off Aldington Road near Stonewall Jackson Elementary.

Police have still not made contact with the child, but are confident at this time that the elderly man did not have bad intentions.

Police soon located the driver and interviewed him. Family of that man say he likes to collect stuffed animals and hand them out to children.
