FHP said a pickup truck driven by a 16-year-old boy from St. Augustine “was traveling south in the left turn lane on U.S. Highway 1, north of Las Calinas Boulevard.”

The pickup truck driver “failed to observe” an SUV that was traveling north on U.S. 1 south of Las Calinas “in the left travel lane” as he tried to make a left-hand turn, FHP said.

The SUV was driven by a 38-year-old woman and had a 73-year-old woman and a 2-year-old boy as passengers. All are from St. Augustine, FHP said.
