Jacksonville, FL — The suspected bank robber who was caught at Jacksonville International Airport, is now charged with strong arm robbery.
WOKV first reported Tuesday night about a man being taken in to custody by Jacksonville Aviation Authority Police. A new arrest report we've obtained shows that suspect is 43-year-old Dennis Robinson, who lists his home address as in Philadelphia, PA.
Robinson is accused of robbing a Chase Bank on Dunn Avenue around 4:15PM Tuesday. The incident report says he first tried to withdraw $5,000 in cash, but the teller told him that money was not available in Robinson’s account. Robinson then allegedly wrote “robbery” on a piece of paper and gave it to the teller, who then gave him the $5,000.
JAA Police found a man matching the suspect’s description soon after the robbery took place, and the arrest report shows he was wearing the same clothing as the suspect in the bank robbery and was carrying a large amount of money. A witness further identified Robinson as the suspect, according to the arrest report.
The report says Robinson did make a brief statement after he was taken in to custody by JAA Police, although the statement itself has been redacted.
