Jacksonville, FL — The Baker County Sheriff's Office is investigating the passing of counterfeit bills at area businesses by four suspects from Chicago.
On December 20, patrol deputies responded to a Taco Bell on South Sixth Street where the four suspects were found in possession of numerous counterfeit bills as well as several thousand real dollars in cash.
Detectives believe they used the fake bills at area businesses and throughout the state of Florida to make big purchases, getting real money back in change.
Detectives learned the four had traveled from Miami in a rental car after flying into the state earlier this week.
The suspects are identified as 23-year-old Bobby Jones Jr., 23-year-old Dante Thomas, 20-year-old Jaeyonna Allen and 19-year-old Keyia Giles, all of Chicago.
They've been arrested and charged with bringing counterfeit bills into the state and uttering counterfeit bills.
