The Jacksonville Sheriff's office confirms a man and woman found dead inside of an Arlington apartment was, in fact, a murder-suicide.
Police say 45-year-old Nichelle Simpson and 44-year-old Stephen Hartford were a couple. Detectives say Hartford pulled the trigger shooting Simpson first and then himself.
Investigators now believe Simpson's 11-year-old daughter was a witness to the crime. Our partner Action news is reporting she is now in the care of family.
The apartment complex is near Monument and the I-295 East Beltway.
It happened inside an apartment around 1 a.m. at Kendall Lake Luxury Apartments, police said.
