Life Flight gets special winged visitor after naming copter after Dolly Parton

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Someone on Life Flight Jacksonville’s Facebook page posted about a special visit it received the day it named its aircraft “Dolly” after the country singer who died Tuesday.

“We had the most unexpected and special visitor,” the post read after a red-tailed hawk landed on the air ambulance within hours of its naming the helicopter after Dolly Parton.

“She even stopped to perch on Dolly’s rotor, as if she wanted to be part of the occasion. A beautiful moment that felt just a little bit magical,” the post continued.

The post called the visit “special -” as if someone was watching over the rescue crew that ferries critically injured people to area hospitals.

“I think she approves of the name!”
