JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — JSO is investigating three separate Southside area shootings that happened overnight.
In one case, a gunman shot a 14-year-old boy on his own doorstep at The Avenues apartment complex behind Baymeadows Road.

Officers were called to the scene just after 4 a.m. JSO said two people came to the door, and there was some sort of altercation that led to a gun going off.
At this point, JSO said they do not believe there was a relationship between the victim and the suspects.
Hours later, Action News Jax spoke with neighbors who were unaware of what happened, including next-door neighbor Dalton Kies.
“I vaguely remember kind of hearing noises and stuff,” Kies said.
Kies said his dogs didn’t bark early Sunday morning as well. However, after learning what happened, he’s concerned about his own safety.
“It could have been us easily. It could have been my dogs or anything, or my girlfriend or anything,” Kies said.

Another neighbor said this has her rethinking her address.
“I’m ready to move. Tomorrow, tonight. I feel very uncomfortable,” the neighbor said.
JSO said they are still investigating the shooting. There is no suspect information at this time, which worries people living in the complex.
“I don’t like that there’s very little information,” the same neighbor said.
Also on the Southside Sunday morning, another man and a woman were shot in two different locations. Police said all three victims should recover, and they do not believe any of the shootings are connected.
