EXCLUSIVE: David Arquette talks wrestling, Bozo the Clown and Scream ahead of 30th anniversary event

JACKSONVILLE, Fla — Actor David Arquette will be coming to Jacksonville in October. He’ll be taking part in “Behind the Scream: A Live Conversation with David Arquette” at the Florida Theatre on Saturday, October 10. Arquette will be taking questions following a 30th anniversary screening of the popular horror movie “Scream.” I got the chance to sit down with the actor and wrestler ahead of the horror event to talk about the legacy of Scream, his wrestling career, and buying the rights to Bozo the Clown.

“I knew it was special, I knew it had a new take on horror movies and that’s something they hadn’t seen before. I knew it understood fandom in a way that other horror films didn’t, that it had rules of how to survive a horror movie, for instance, but I never knew it would be this popular this far along,” said Arquette, who played Dewey Riley in the Scream franchise. “I mean, we meet people today who are like, you know, ‘these are my grandkids who love the first movie,’ it’s incredible.”
